France: Advertisers must pay

The French government is to require food manufacturers of products with high fat or sugar content to pay a 1.5% tax on their media budgets unless they include wording agreed by the health ministry in a prominent position on all printed and broadcast publicity. The list of foodstuffs has yet to be finalised. This measure will come into effect from next year.
