Obesity project shrinks kids’ waists
A children’s obesity intervention project is an “astonishing” success. The Be Active, Eat Well four-year pilot programme targeted children aged 4 to 12 years in Colac, Victoria. The whole community was involved in the project – schools, parents, local media and fast food outlets.
After four years, the children weighed on average one kilo less and their waistlines were smaller than those of a control group.
