NZ: Food industry recommends voluntary food labelling system

Food marketers get in before Government introduces regulation

According to the NZ Herald, the The Food and Grocery Council is recommending that its members adopt a voluntary classification system on the front of food labels. This system would be the same as the Australian system, giving recommended daily allowances.

FOE recommends a traffic light system

In our submission to the Health Select Committee Inquiry into Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes in NZ FOE recommends a traffic light labelling system. Recommended daily allowances are too confusing.
