Pacific countries top league table of overweight nations

Forbes magazine recently published a league table of the world’s overweight nations based on BMI. Eight Pacific nations are in their top ten. New Zealand comes in at number 17, ahead of Australia at 21 and the UK at 28. The US is in 9th place.

The figures come from a World Health Organisation database.

World’s Fattest Countries

According to Forbes, Nauru tops a list of countries with the greatest percentage of overweight people. Nearly 95 percent of Nauru’s adult population (15+) are classified as overweight.
