US: Soft drink consumption linked with obesity and type 2 diabetes – report

US researchers have found a clear relationship between drinking non-diet soft drinks and poor nutrition, increased risk for obesity, and increased risk for diabetes.

Effects of Soft Drink Consumption on Nutrition and Health: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

A systematic review of published studies by Yale researchers concludes that “recommendations to reduce population soft drink consumption are strongly supported by the available science.”
