NZ: Potato chips and rugby cards

Ministry on snack attack

The Ministry of Health is not happy about a potato chip promotion involving collectable rugby cards.

According to the Sunday Star Times, the Ministry is considering lodging a complaint with the Advertising Standards Authority about the promotion. A spokesperson says the promotion encourages the consumption of unhealthy snack food and breaches advertising codes.

However, the Advertising Standards Authority has said previously that it can’t change a product’s packaging.
