US: LA bans new fast-food outlets in poorer areas for one year

LA blocks new fast-food outlets from poor areas

The Los Angeles City Council has placed a year-long moratorium on new fast food outlets in LA’s poorest areas in a bid to counter obesity. It wants to attract restaurants that sell healthier food and to encourage more grocery stores into the area.
