Canada: Quebec enforces advertising law in battle against childhood obesity

Quebec is enforcing a 1980s law that prevents advertising to children under 13 years.  One food maker received a fine for marketing a snack-cake in preschools using its cartoon gorilla.  Charges are pending against McDonald’s for sponsoring some children’s movies, Burger King for distributing toys with meals, and General Mills for a game on its website.
