NZ: To meat pies we entrust our future

Parent and NZ Herald blogger Tracey Barnett is unhappy about the removal of minimum nutritional standards in schools.  She says that well meaning school trustees trying to save money could decide to hire cheaper canteen managers without checking the menus they offer.  Unhealthy food could well be on sale again.

“Don’t serve bad food to our schoolchildren on my tax dollar,” she asks schools.  “Of course parents are the first gatekeepers to teach healthy eating but our schools shouldn’t work against us six hours a day.”
