NZ: Consumer group calls for traffic-light food labelling

New Zealand’s consumer group is calling for a mandatory and consistent food labelling system to show nutrition information at a glance.

Some people find the Nutrition Information Panel confusing and difficult to interpret, Consumer says. They don’t have time to read it all.

Consumer wants traffic-light labelling on the front of all food labels.  This  shows you at a glance whether foods have high, medium or low levels of  saturated fat, salt and sugar.
