The UK Food Standards Agency has released a study on front-of-pack food-labelling. They found a single food labelling system would be the most helpful to busy shoppers.
The system they recommend is a combination of traffic light labelling and Guideline Daily Amount (GDA) information on the front of food packaging.

Health groups welcome the report.
“It’s time for food companies to stop making excuses, support one system and ensure shoppers are given the ‘at a glance’ information they need,” says the British Heart Foundation.
However, the EU is also looking at the issue and can insist on Europe-wide rules.
