Fast food giant, McDonald’s has been granted permission to build a restaurant in the Auckland suburb of Balmoral, despite opposition from local residents.

The group opposing a new McDonald’s in their Auckland suburb is bitterly disappointed about the decision.

New McDonalds allowed but iconic arches downsized

The McDonalds restaurant chain has won the right to build a new outlet in the Auckland suburb of Balmoral, but only if the 10 metre high golden arches are banned.  It is one of 30 new stores McDonald’s wants to open in the next few years.
