Banning junk food TV advertising to children is one of the most cost-effective ways to tackle obesity, Deakin University health researchers say. It could save Australian taxpayers A$300million in health-care costs.
They compared 14 obesity-prevention measures and found the TV ad ban the most cost-effective.
The results of the study are published in the International Journal of Obesity.
