US: Junk food ads reign on kids’ web sites

When researchers examined 28 of the Web sites most popular with children, they found that the majority of food products advertised there met experts’ criteria for “foods to avoid”.  They expect marketing of junk food on websites to grow and say there are serious health implications.

They were writing in the American Journal of Public Health.
