NZ: Maori Party Bill removes GST from healthy food

A Maori Party bill to remove GST from healthy food has been drawn from the ballot.

In general terms the Bill defines healthy food as:

  • fruit and vegetables
  • breads and cereals
  • milk and milk products (with defined exceptions)
  • lean meat, poultry, seafood, eggs, nuts, seeds and legumes.
