Ireland: Food giants’ sweetie splurge on sport

Not only is Cadbury’s sponsoring the London Olympics next year, it is funding “quirky” physical activites around the country. Other food companies are joining the trend.

Nestle is funding events where people collect vouchers on chocolate and cereal packaging. Then they swap them for free activities such as surfing or rock climbing or tennis.

However, it would take a 15-hour surfathon or 12 hours of tennis to burn up all the calories in the KitKats it takes to get a voucher.
