Evidence that taxing sugary drinks reduces the obesity rate

A meta-analysis reviewed the literature on taxes or price increases on sugar sweetened drinks, and their potential impact on consumption levels, obesity, overweight and body mass index (BMI).

It concluded that taxing these beverages may reduce obesity.
