A Cancer Council NSW survey looked at over 300 children’s websites. It found that ads for unhealthy food outnumbered those for healthy food by two to one.

Junk food enticing kids through World Wide Web

“Junk food promotion is now monopolising the pages of internet sites aimed at children and needs government regulation,” says the Cancer Council NSW in a media release about its new research.

“Kids are being bombarded by junk food messages through the use of ‘advergames’, where the food product is part of a computer game, brand logos or even links to food product websites.”
