The Green Party runs regular polls on what schools across the country are selling in their tuckshops. Their latest survey shows some improvement, with the sale of pies and chips down fourteen percent.
Schools will fail the grade on healthy food guidelines
Many schools are still selling junk food, according to the latest Green Party school lunch survey. Although there has been a significant improvement since last year’s poll, more than half still sell pies, hotdogs or cookies as a staple part of the menu. Filled rolls and sandwiches are more expensive than pies in a third of schools.
