Timing of puberty linked to mother’s diet during pregnancy

Children whose mothers have a high-fat diet while they are pregnant and breast feeding may enter puberty earlier than their peers, say researchers at the Liggins Institute. These children are also more likely to be obese as adults.

The research was carried out on rats.
