There are many ways you can support the fight against obesity.
Join FOE
Individuals and organisations are welcome to become FOE supporters. This means that you will receive Obesity News, and other news about what is happening about obesity in New Zealand and what FOE is doing. As well, supporters may be asked from time to time to assist with FOE activities.
To become a supporter, download the application form and send it to FOE.

Get FOE's website newsletter
You can find out more about our activities by subscribing to our newsletter. There is a link to this on the right-hand side of this page.
Make a donation
You can make a one-off or regular donation. Download the donation form, fill it out and send it to FOE with your donation.
You may wish to delay making a donation for a short period as FOE is currently seeking approval for donations to be tax deductible.

Leave a bequest
It's easy to leave a gift to FOE New Zealand Trust (FOE). Just include a bequest in your will, after providing for friends and family.
Write a letter
You can write letters to the paper or your MP. Try to start with a one-sentence summary of your point of view before providing the detail.
Make a submission
Decision-makers may call for public comment when drafting new policies or strategies. Have your say and complete their submission form or write a letter.
Parliamentary Select Committees call for submissions to proposed legislation when it's going through the House. They provide submission forms to complete. Making a submission to a Parliamentary Select Committee (PDF)
Talk to your MP
If you get the chance to meet your MP - then do so. MPs are keen for photo opportunities and local stories for their newsletters. Tell them about obesity issues in your area such as programmes, success stories, and barriers to healthy eating or exercising. Contact your MP
